About the Shred Jam Trax There are literally 100's of MP3 files! Set up in a series of exercises. These trax take you from "zero to sixty" in no time! The trax are "tunes" that start at normal playing speed, then smoothly progress to a fever pitch pace! Each "tune" has 4 to 11 trax. All trax start at normal playing speed. But each track is a little more aggressive than the preceding track. So as you get thru one track of a "tune, practicing that one till you can play at that speed correctly and accurately, you step up to the next track for that "tune". For example . . . Here's a standard I IV V shuffle. It's played at 123 beats per minute. In the series, Jam Track 1 is the "tune" played several times thru the 12 bars so you learn the progression, and work out a solo. Either one of your own, or one we "suggest" for you. Practice it till you have it down SOLID! The track has a solid bass, drums and rhythm. This will work for ANY solo instrument. Guitar, harp, sax, keys, whatever!!! The Jam Track for this "tune" is played at 123 BPM and is 2min 8sec long. The 12 bars are played thru 8 times. Now, go to Shred Track #1 of that tune. It starts out at a comfortable 123 beats per minute, and smoothly, and gradually moves up 131 BPM, and is 3min 2 sec long. Continue your practice sessions using this track until you can play your solo thru precisely, following along with the tempo increases. Then mark your progress chart, and begin using the next step Shred Track. Shred Track 2 starts at the same 123 BPM (all tracks in the series will start at normal playing speed.) and ends up at 139 BPM, and is 2min 57sec long. Shred Track 3 starts at 123 BPM and ends up at 146 BPM, and is 2min 52sec long. Shred Track 4 starts at 123 BPM and ends up at 154 BPM, and is 2min 48sec long. Shred Track 5 starts at 123 BPM and ends up at 161 BPM, and is 2min 44sec long. Shred Track 6 starts at 123 BPM and ends up at . . . A BLAZING 217 BPM, and is 2min 20sec long! Part of what makes this work is that each step up is NOT just the same track played faster all the way thru! They ALL start at normal playing speed. The tempo changes are simply more aggressive for each track. So you're not only playing faster at the end. You're playing at each speed a little less time than with the preceding track. Plus playing at faster speeds at the end. Here's an example of the trax. Note that this is a Shred Track from the middle of a particular "tune". Link 1 is to the beginning of the track, a couple times thru the 12 bars. Listen to how gradually and smoothly the tempo increases. Again, this is the middle of the series for this "tune". Sample 1: . . . Boogie Sample The second link it the last couple times thru the same Shred Track. Keep in mind, we didn't start with Shred track 1, and the middle 4 times thru the 12 bars is missing! It's a very smooth transition when you hear it from start to finish. Sample 2 . . . Boogie Sample OK, this was a part of Shred Jam Track #4 of a 6 track series. It starts more slowly for beginners, but really roars at the end! As you'll see, there are specific "types" of Jam Trax in the Shred Series. Some are simply to jam to. To work on your solos to get them to ripping speeds! But there are TONS of "Lesson" Jam Trax as well. So you can practice your scales, etc., and enjoy it! |
